It's 26th of January, 2 PM local time. I am feeling dizzy and also having that constant dread because the circle registration for CF22 is within 2 days and I haven't made the circle cut. Heck, I haven't started thinking on what to put on the circle cut even. Am I cooked?

But instead, I made a new stuff which is the Circle Cutter tool on sirkel.id, which is with a great much effort and it was done at the same day of today, but around 3-5 AM in the dead morning. I can say that I'm quite happy with how it turned out.

I think it should be able to serve the most basic function that it needs. I think that for most of the time, people would make their own circle cut on their drawing app because this really lacks that capability to add graphics element. Especially on how Comiket fellas doing their stuff, the circle cuts are mostly going to have like additional text, custom graphics, and even logo to the top right part. So I think the part for positioning the stencil is a little bit over the board. But maybe that's because I've been having fun with react-advanced-cropper component, which is also the main driver of my media library on the custom variant. It's really great.

I think what most of the function that this would serve is to just compress the file into something that is good enough. In a way, I'm not sure if the output file really needs to be in 400 x 569, but that should be good according to the previous templates given by the committee. And at the same time, the resulting file size are mostly far below the 200kB mark, like some even go as small as 50kB. I think the dimension matters here, but what surprises me is how HTML Canvas is enough for all of this. I tried to use libvips embedded using WASM but I had some troubles for initializing it, and after considering that: 1) Downloading 5MB for the WASM file is downright crazy, and 2) HTML Canvas is enough and available on almost all modern browsers now, I feel like this is just enough. It might lose the fine tuning and other potentials that libvips can deliver, but hey, I think this is good enough.

Today I called sick because my head is spinning. I think I overexerted yesterday. Hitting Kaleid on maimai twice is stupid haha. And the entire Sunday routine was ruined because there was Genshin event right next to the Blok M station, which is real close to me. So yeah, I think today is a well deserved rest.

I'll see what I can come up with for my circle cut. At least any lingering distraction should be cleared up now.

I have updated the view of the index page and added a lot of other modifications, such as diary filtering and pagination. I feel like I have created something that is really cool and awesome, and having the banner image lined up and shown like a stack like this is really amazing, don't you think?

It would be even more awesome if I can make the banner also "show" the focal point properly, but that might be a little bit tricky to operate since the banner has been in 16:9 ratio and the post entry here has dynamic aspect ratio. For most, it looks good. I think it now falls back to the operator's (me) on properly cropping it, and I think making a custom stencil is a great idea for this. The stencil is just for showing the composition overlays, like rule of thirds or golden spiral. But maybe that should be on another chance.

Now, I just want to create my circle cut. Alternatively, my Tyrunny drawing is worthy enough, but I do feel like I want to make something special for CF22.

I think I need a lot of sugar tonight, I need to have my head at least working and I need all the sugar. Haha.

I finally have finished my Tyrunny drawing. I think I can still improve this, but this is already long overdue, so I think it's time to finish it rather than to pursue for perfectionism. It's good enough already, so I'm particularly happy. I can use this as the circle cut if I am really in dire situation (read: can't finish it by 23.55 on 27th Jan 2026).

You know what, I am happy. I'll use this as my new wallpaper.
